DESCRIPTION:
Round-leaved Wintergreen is a low-growing evergreen herb characterized by
shiny, rounded basal leaves and a single upright stalk bearing nodding,
bell-shaped white to pinkish flowers. It typically grows in shaded, acidic
soils and is adapted to coniferous and mixed woodlands. The plant is discreet
and often hidden among leaf litter or mosses.

MEDICINAL
PROPERTIES:

Traditionally used for its anti-inflammatory and mild analgesic effects.
Historically applied to support urinary tract health and joint discomfort.
Contains salicylate-like compounds, which may contribute to pain relief.

UNDESIRED EFFECTS:
Use with caution in people sensitive to salicylates. Not recommended during
pregnancy or for those with kidney disorders.

COMBINING WITH
OTHER MEDICINES:

May be combined with uva-ursi or horsetail in urinary tract blends or with
willow bark for pain-relief teas.


PREPARATION:
Leaves are dried and steeped as a tea. Can also be used in decoctions or
